We welcomed Emanual, Daniel, and Oliver to the Children’s Home on November 13th, and from that moment, they became an integral part of the home, working tirelessly and selflessly to improve the living conditions and environment for the children. Over the course of their stay from November 13th to November 29th, their contributions spanned a wide range of repairs, creative initiatives, and thoughful gesture, all which left a lasting impact on both the children and the staff.
Upon their arrival, the team immediately set to work, beginning with the restoration of hot water- an essential service for the children’s well-being. The cold weather made this even more important, and their swift action ensured that the children could enjoy hot water for their daily needs. They also gathered all the necessary materials for a variety of repairs, from plumbing tools to light fixtures to address the most pressing issues.
One of the team’s significant achievements was the repair of taps throughout the home. The taps in the bathroom and dining room were fixed, ensuring a steady water supply for all the children’s needs
Lighting was another area that way major improvements. The team installed new, energy-efficient LED lights in the study room, significantly brightening the space and making it more conducive to learning. The children now have a comfortable environment to do their homework and study. They also repaired lights in the bathroom and playroom, addressing both safety concerns and practical needs. These efforts enhanced the overall functionality and ambiance of the home contributing to a safer and more enjoyable living space.

In addition, to their hands-on repair work, Emanual, Daniel, and Oliver engaged with the children on a personal level. Emanual led study sessions, offering academic support and encouragement to the children, motivating them to stay on track with their education. She also organized a creative workshop where the children learned to make dresses out of paper. This fun and educational activity allowed the children to explore their artistic abilities, work together in teams, and feel proud of their creations.

As a thoughtful gesture, the team distributed water bottles to each child. Emanual took the responsibility of handing out the personalized bottles on behalf of the team. She had purchases colorful pens to write the children’s name on each bottle, adding a personal touch to each one. This small but meaningful act brought smiles to the children’s faces and gave them something special and useful to remember the team by.

Recognizing the importance of sustainability, the team took the time to train Karan Dai, a staff member at the home, in basic repair skills. Emanual, Daniel and Oliver taught him how to handle light repairs, fix taps, and address other common maintenance issues. This training was a crucial step in ensuring that the home could manage repairs independently in the future, without always relying on external assistance. It also empowered Karan Dai with the knowledge and skills to maintain the home’s facilities long after the team’s departure.

Their stay culminated in a heartfelt farewell celebration on November 27th. The children, staff, and volunteers came together to enjoy a delicious meal, followed by lively and spirited dance performances. The celebration was filled with joy, laughter, and gratitude, a fitting reflection of the positive impact Emanual, Daniel, and Oliver had during their time at the home. On November 28th, Oliver and Daniel said their goodbyes, leaving behind a home that was brighter, more functional, and full of memories. Emanual stayed for an additional day to ensure everything was completed, leaving on November 29th after ensuring all the tasks were finished and the children were well-prepared for the future.

The Children’s Home would like to express its deepest gratitude to Emanual, Daniel, and Oliver for their selfless contributions. Their hard work and dedication have made a significant difference in the lives of the children, providing them with a more comfortable, creative, and safe environment. From the physical repairs to the meaningful gestures like the personalized water bottles, their time at the home has made a lasting impact.
