We are a non-profit social welfare organization dedicated to providing care for orphaned, abandoned, underprivileged and needy children of Nepal. We were registered at Kathmandu District Administration Office in 1989 and affiliated with the Social Welfare Council.
We started with half a dozen children under our wings in a dilapidated shelter. It has been a struggle for us, from the inception, to ensure proper and steady care. Our family has grown over the years. Our strategy, developed in consultation with our well-wishers and children, is always oriented towards fulfilling the realistic hopes and aspirations of our children.
Our priority is to make our programs relevant and meaningful to transform the lives of our children. We work towards making our programs sustainable and enduring.
We have two orphanages, one in Sano Khokana, Lalitpur and another in Gobariya, Mahendranagar. Currently, we have 92 boys (5 – 17 years old) and 41 girls (3 – 17 years old).
These orphanages were purposefully designed and built to fulfil the unique needs of children. They have ample provisions for studying, dining, playing, changing, bathing, sleeping, parking, etc. They also have office spaces and residential facilities for staff members such as wardens, supervisors, caregivers, cooks, security personnel, etc.
Children have a daily schedule for personal care, school, self-study, tutor guidance, recreation, meals, healthcare, extra-curricular activities and leisure. Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors and supporters, these facilities and services are well appreciated by all who reside and visit.
We encourage children to be socially active. They take part in cultural and community events. We strongly believe in providing them with as many opportunities for socialization and confidence-building as opportunities unveil.
The orphanages are managed by Program Coordinators. They liaison with the Management Board and are supported by residential staff, teachers, care mothers, and helpers.
Our main office is at Sano Khokana’s orphanage. It ensures and updates statutory requirements such as renewals and audits with experts’ input; maintains public relations; and coordinates implementation of projects and programs.
You can sponsor a child at our orphanages or support a child in the community through our Educating Children in Nepal (ECN) program.
You can volunteer to design or implement a program or an event; or help us raise funds or donate the materials needed. You can contribute by sharing your knowledge and skills to develop the organization by enhancing the capacity of the children, staff, or the board.
You can help us become sustainable by planning or implementing projects that are impactful.
